Statement of the Civil Aviation Authority on cases of drones approaching aircraft and laser attacks

The Civil Aviation Authority has recently recorded an increase in the number of reported incidents in which the protection zones of airports have been violated by flying drones and aircraft have been hit by laser beams. In one case, a collision between a helicopter and a drone was even reported. The situation is alarming and the Civil Aviation Authority considers it necessary to comment on this situation.

Background check – Ukrainian criminal records

Since the Ukrainian Embassy in the Czech Republic provides extracts from the Ukrainian criminal records (https://czechia.mfa.gov.ua/konsulski-pitannya/dovidka-pro-ne-prityagnennya-do-kriminalnoyi-vidpovidalnosti-nesudimist), the CAA with effect from 15 June 2022 ceases to accept affidavits of good repute replacing extracts from Ukrainian criminal records.

Opening hours during holidays

Kindly note that the opening hours of the Civil Aviation Authority CZ during Christmas holidays are changed. On the 23rd of December and 31st of December 2021 the CAA CZ is open until 12pm.

Apart from the above-mentioned, the opening hours of the CAA CZ remain unchanged.

New Background Check request form

The application for a Background Check can now be submitted via a form using the national electronic identification and authentication scheme. For this type of request, the Civil Aviation Authority receives the request automatically after the request is completed and the submission is confirmed. If the application contains attachments or is completed using a standard electronic form, the attachments or hand-signed application must be delivered to the Civil Aviation Authority in person or by mail, this remains unchanged. The application shall be submitted using the form available here: https://ros.caa.cz/?lang=en.

Proof of Covid-19 infection negativity on theoretical knowledge examinations

Since 01.08.2021 CAA CZ requires proof on Covid-19 infection negativity for participation in theoretical knowledge examinations taking place in the CAA CZ premises. More detailed information – see chapter 7 of the CAA CZ Theoretical Knowledge Examination Code.
