Examiners

Approved training organisations are authorised to train and test flight crew in the training. Each training organisation shall have approved instructors and examiners for training within their organisation to train and examine applicants for the licence. In the case of pilots for the required skill test, approved examiners shall be approved independently of the training organisation.

The privileges of examiners shall be used for the acquisition, revalidation and renewal of individual licences and ratings. The exact scope of the privileges shall be set out in their authorisation, including any limitations.

Skill tests and VFR proficiency checks for applicants who are not fluent in Czech and who speak English may only be conducted by CAA-approved examiners who have demonstrated proficiency in English to at least ICAO rating scale level 4.

Issuance of Temporary Permission to Exercise Privileges in accordance with ARA.FCL.215(d)

The examiner may, after the successful completion of a skill test or proficiency check, issue the applicant a Temporary Permission to Exercise Privileges for:

  • a type rating,
  • a class rating SET (land).

The validity of the temporary permission is 8 weeks from the date of the skill test or until the rating is entered into the licence issued by the CAA, whichever occurs first.

The temporary permission is issued by the examiner in writing using the form CAA-F-ZLP-001-025 Temporary Permission to Exercise Privileges.
A copy of the issued permission shall be sent together with a copy of the Application and Report Form to the following e-mail address: podatelna@caa.gov.cz.

The temporary permission may be issued immediately after the successful completion of the skill test; however, if aircraft take-offs and landings training (base training) is required, the privileges may only be exercised after completion of such training and confirmation by the instructor in the prescribed section of the form.

The applicant is required to carry the original temporary permission when exercising the privileges and must apply for the endorsement of the rating into the licence during the validity period of the temporary permission.

The temporary permission cannot be extended.
